Felinity Interview – C.N. Lesley

Hi and welcome to Team Grimbold! Felinity is set to be the first publication under the Kristell Inkling imprint, and we’re thrilled to have you on board. Tell us about yourself. (Please include links to blogs/sites/Twitter/published works etc)

Elizabeth Hull, writing under the by line of C.N.Lesley, lives in Alberta with her husband and cats. Her three daughters live close by. When she isn’t writing, Elizabeth likes to read and to paint watercolors. She is also a keen gardener, despite the very short summers and now has a mature shade garden. Once a worker in the communications sector, mostly concentrating on local news and events, she now writes full time.

Trivia.

The by line comes about because there is a very nice lady fantasy writer already published who uses Elizabeth’s legal name.

All Elizabeth’s cats are rescue adoptions. Her current boy was days away from being euthanized, as he was deemed too sick to adopt. The cat recovered within hours of being brought home.

She was senior managing editor of FlashMe Magazine and now is assistant flash fiction editor for Abyss and Apex. http://www.abyssapexzine.com/

What inspired your stories for Felinity?

My stories mostly come from dreams.

How do you feel about having an illustration accompany your stories?

I am very curious and am dying to see the result.

What writing projects are you working on at the moment?

Sequels’ to fantasy and science fantasy series, a stand-alone dark sci fi, two urban fantasies, a high fantasy and a novella.

The most important question – Cats or dogs?

Cats rule the universe.

Inkling Interrogation

 1. What sort of child were you?

The lonely only.

2. If you could be a superhero, who would you be?

I’d like to be one who can teleport, but I can’t think of an existing one who does this.

3. What’s your earliest memory?

Deciding rolling down the stairs width-wise would be fun. I was two and could fit across. It wasn’t.

4. If you could sing one song on the X-Factor, what would it be?

Anything from Fairport Convention. I like folk music.

5. What’s your biggest disappointment?

Getting let down by people.

6. If you could enroll in a PhD program, with your tuition paid in full by a mysterious benefactor, what would you study — and why?

Paleontology. I live a two hour drive from the Royal Tyrell Museum. http://www.tyrrellmuseum.com/ aka the dinosaur museum, situated in Alberta’s Bad Lands. Even if I drive five miles down the road to a river valley I might find a fossil. I would love to know more about these creatures.

7. Who would play you in a movie of your life?

Someone with a lot of patience.

8. Do you sing in the shower?

Never. I am not a fan of getting soap in my mouth.
